Buying Advertising: The advertising screen displays all the advertising that you are currently running on the left of the screen. The two columns on the right of the screen will display all the advertising options that you have not purchased yet. To buy one (or multiple) campaigns, check the box in front of the contract and click the "Buy" button at the bottom of the screen. If you have enough money the advertising will be added to your list of "Current Advertising" on the left. Please note that you must first withdraw money from the bank in order to purchase advertising. Only cash will be used when determining if you have enough money. This is to protect any bank money from automatically being used in the purchase of advertising.

Advertising Duration: An advertising campaign lasts one game day. Any and all advertising levels may be purchased each day. Those campaigns purchased that day will impact your team then be done. For this reason it is wise to perform advertising each day. Your team's advertising campaigns will be cleared after nightly events have been run (the official end of a day in Franchise Basketball).

Advertising Strategy: Advertising campaigns have a cumulative effect. For example, if a team purchases the posters option it (the team) will receive the benefit of running the posters campaign, but, if a team also purchases the Windshield Fliers option, they (the team) will get the benefit of both the posters and the fliers. The more advertising campaigns you run, the more people you reach. The more expensive a campaign is, the more benefit your team will enjoy by running that campaign. In other words, the Regional Newspaper Ads would be more beneficial to your team than would the Regional Radio Ads. You will, however, get more bang for your dollar by choosing to run multiple campaigns rather than going for one (or a few) expensive campaigns. For example, it would be more beneficial for your team to run posters through Local Internet Ads than to purchase the Regional Radio Ads. The reason for this is that when you run multiple campaigns, you reach a more wide ranging cross section of society than if you simply run one type of ad where you only reach those people who are exposed to that ad.

The Benefits of Advertising: As mentioned in the fame help section, advertising is one of the most important items in the front office because it adds to your raw fame score and helps you obtain a better fame rank. Your fame (in turn) effects a multitude of things in the game. Buying advertising each day insures that your fame is always climbing. In addition to the effects on fame, advertising also gives you a game day boost to attendance and the prices you can charge for tickets. The advertising running on a day that you play games (purchased before the game) helps to inform people that you are playing and generate interest in the game.

The Administrative Assistant: The administrative assistant is a feature that is available only to subscribed users. With the assistant, you may set levels of advertising to purchase if you have no advertising purchased at the time games are played. The costs are doubled and only the first column of advertising is available, however, if a team (for any reason) doesn't purchase advertising in a given day, the assistant will purchase that advertising for them.
