Description: Franchise Basketball is both time consuming and labor intensive, not to mention costly to operate due to the complex nature of the game. For that reason, although we offer a generous trial period for franchise owners, we ask that you subscribe your team if you enjoy the game and want to continue playing. Subscriptions not only help us to continue to bring you this great game, but, also give your team benefits.

Cost: Subscriptions are based on game time, not real life. Please reference the subscription page by clicking on the subscrioption button under the main menu for the exact current pricing. We currently offer 1, 2 and 4 season subscriptions. A single season lasts approximately 3 months. Single season, two season and four season subscriptions may not be combined on the same order. A four season subscription lasts approximately one year in real time. When renewing a subscription, the new subscription always starts the day that the old one expires. This includes teams that elect to wait until the renewal period (when you no longer have the benefits of a subscribed owner but, have not lost your team). If you subscribe during that period, your subscription will be retroactive to the time your last one expired.

Length and Expiration: As mentioned in the Cost section, subscriptions are for one, two and four seasons. A team will expire one, two or four seasons to the day that it was activated. For example, if an owner purchases a four season subscription on Day 13 of year 2001 (game year) it will last until Day 13 of 2005. At that point the subscription will expire and all benefits of a subscribed team will be lost. If a team is renewed before the end of the season (the day that the team's record is zeroed out) some benefits (like two season concession and merchandise contracts) will be restored for that season (others automatically are restored). If a team goes through the end of a season unsubscribed, various items will be lost, like concession and merchandise contracts purchased that season and perhaps a subscriber only stadium level. A reminder, as mentioned above, renewals all start on the day the last subscription expired. If that is in the future, the new subscription will not take effect until that day. If that is in the past, the subscription will be retroactive to that day.

Status: At any time you can see what year and day your subscription expires and the current status of this team (subscribed/non-subscribed) in the Front Office Vitals section. In addition, if you are a non-subscriber, you can see how long you have left in your trial period in the "expiration" field. As a non-subscriber, you are allowed one 90 day trial period. All subsequent signups are subject to deletion.

Benefits: Franchise Basketball is specifically designed to give subscribed users extra benefits in the game. There are a number of subscriber benefits and they are as follows:

- May own multiple teams in different leagues - you may own as many subscribed teams as there are leagues.
- Unlimited Free Agent Signings
- Unlimited Player Releases
- Merchandise Contracts last 2 seasons (non-subscribers last 1)
- Concession Contracts last 2 seasons (non-subscribers last 1)
- Stadium may be upgraded 14 different levels (non-subscribers can upgrade 7 levels to the Large Arena)
- Twice as many players may be placed on the Disabled list
- Team will not be deleted for at least 3 months of inactivity (non-subscribers have 14 days of inactivity)
- Historical player data is displayed on the players vital screen (non-subscribers only see current season)
- Historical Team data for all teams is displayed on the scouting screen.
- May search active players on criteria such as skill level, position and name (unavailable to non-subscribers)
- Can assign players numbers (visible in player vitals screen)
- Can give players nicknames (visible in player vitals screen)

- Can scout another team's vitals (unavailable to non-subscribers)
- Can include money in trades (if trade is with another subscribed team)
- No pop-up advertisements.

Trial Period: We want everyone playing Franchise Basketball for the first time to have ample time to try out the game and decide if you like it before you commit any money. For that reason we have setup a generous free trial period. The standard trial period for Franchise Basketball is currently 90 days. Since you may play for 3 months, you should be able to see the start of at least one season, regular season, post season and end of the season at least once. If after that time you like the game and still want to play, we ask that you please subscribe your team. If you are not interested in continuing, we place the team back in the pool of available teams so another person may try out the game. At any point in time, an owner may check how many days they have left in the trial period by viewing the Expiration field on the Front Office Vitals screen

Renewal: If a subscriber elects to renew their subscription before the expiration date, that new subscription is added on to the end of the first one. For example, if a subscription expires on Day 6 of 2004 (game year) and the owner renews the subscription for another four seasons, the new expiration date would automatically become Day 6 of 2008. When a subscription expires, the owner will have 30 days from the expiration before the team is returned to the pool of available teams for another owner to take. During that period, several reminders will be sent to the email address on file. The time left to resubscribe may also be checked on the front office vitals screen under subscription expiration. A reminder as mentioned above, renewing during your renewal period (after sub expires and before team is deleted) will be credited retroactively back to the last day of the old subscription, so, there is no benefit in letting the full (or any portion of the) 30 day renewal period elapse.

Refunds: Given the nature of the game, payment methods and low cost of subscriptions to end users, Simgalaxy.com cannot offer refunds on subscriptions. This includes refunds because a change is made to the game an owner doesn't like or agree with, a decision not to play any longer or any other unforseen circumstances. In addition, we may not transfer subscriptions to any other team, controlled or not controlled by the same user. Please be sure you want to play the team you are subscribing before you subscribe it.
