Rules for Trading Draft Picks

Due to the nature of trading draft picks (basically that you are trading some future ability of your team away for something else which can be current or future as well) a number of rules had to be drafted. The following list is a list of rules that apply to the draft pick trading system in Franchise Basketball at Simgalaxy.com.

-Only subscribed users may trade draft picks - This may seem like a fairly obvious rule, but, it really has little or nothing to do with favoring subscribers over non-subscribers. Please see the next item.
-Draft picks may only be traded for seasons that BOTH parties will be subscribed for the draft in - This one may seem complicated, but, lets see an example. Let us take 2 teams, Team A (which is subscribed until season 2007) and Team B (which is subscribed until 2005). If the two teams work out a trade, only draft picks up to season 2004 will be able to be traded for. That is because Team B's subscription expires in 2005 (before the 2005 draft) so they are not allowed to trade draft picks in a draft that they will not be subscribed for. Although they may end up renewing the subscription to go beyond 2005, if they do not do it before the trade is proposed, they can't offer picks in the trade beyond that point.
-Teams are limited to a maximum of 3 picks in each round (by default) - Each team normally gets 1 pick in each round. Now that we have draft pick trading, we have to limit the total number of picks a team may obtain in 1 round. That limit is 3. If you are a wily owner, you could obtain 3 picks in the 1st round and 3 more in the 2nd round of any draft, thus getting 6 total players. No team should be able to draft more than that per draft.
-The draft wishlist will be expanded to 15 players in all leagues, however, there will be only one wishlist per round, so, if you have 3 picks in the 1st round, they will all be made (or attempted to be made) from your round 1 wishlist each time one of your picks comes up. The game will NOT go to your round 2 wishlist in the event all players on your round 1 list are taken. It will draft (in its determination) the best player left.
-Each trade may only include 2 draft picks for each team - the trades can include 4 players (per team), a sum of money and/or two draft picks.
-Trades do not have to include players - trades may be made for JUST money or just draft picks. Trades should also be able to be made for any combination of those as well, so, 2 players for some money and a draft pick… or 1 draft pick for some money and a draft pick.
-Not only may you trade your draft picks (the ones your team is given) you may trade away any draft picks you control - If I trade for Team B's draft pick, once the trade is completed, I now control that pick and may trade it away to another team.
