Description: Similar to the box and one, the triangle and two defense is a little more of a man to man defense. Instead of one player playing a man while the others play a zone defense, the triangle and 2 has two players playing the man while the other three players form a triangle shaped zone in the key. Typically this defense is used against teams with two standout players.

Shooting: As with the Box and One defense, the two players guarded in the Triangle and 2 are the two best overall players on the court. Those players may vary. Whichever players they are, they will tend to shoot less in favor of giving up the ball to the players who have better shot opportunities.
